Dexter and Birdie Yager grew up in
a small mill town in upstate New York. While he was grew up, Dexter do all
kinds of work. He would shovel driveways and sidewalks in winter mowed lawn in
the summer. He even had his own lemonade stand when he was in the 6th
grade. He had also worked at a cloth shop owned by Jewish people. In this way he made money to support
himself when he was in middle school.
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY
He married Birdie when she was only
17. Birdie was the working for the Griffis Air Force base and Dexter was
working for the brewery. As both of them were working, they would leave their
4kids to the babysitter when they were working. Dexter would come home, take
the babysitter home, take the kids with him and then he would comeback and take
care of the kids until Birdie got home at mid-night. This would go on for
years.
CHALLENGES AND FAILURES
Finally Dexter and Birdie came across an MLM business which they joined on 1st November 1964.While he was building the business , he
faced numerous challenges and struggles
. During that period , he had 4 strokes and 3 brain convulsions. He was
paralyzed. At 46, he was already 240 pounds , an obese with 43 inch waist. His
body fat was 24% and he lost control of his right hand and was not able to
walk. According to neurologists , he would be on the wheel chair for the rest
of his life! When he was finally allowed to go home , he was so discouraged
that he wanted to grant his wife a divorce that she would not need to push him
around in a wheel chair for the rest of his life. But Birdie was prepared to
stay with him no matter what.
WILL POWER
At age 55 he decided to do
something and took on weight exercise. When he first started doing that he lost
80 pounds by doing and thinking right. He went from “too fat” range to the “okay”
range and “good” range and recently he is at the 10.5% fat which at age 61 puts
him among the ½ of the 1% of the well built man in the world !
HIS BUSINESS
Today he owns as many as 50
corporations and joint venture companies around the world. He has a MLM
distributor organisation which is responsible for more than 70% of AMWAY corporation’s business worldwide. He is also
a well known motivational speaker and is one of the richest men in America. Their
team is spanning more than 40 countries and more
than 1 million people . Dexter’s Estimated earnings in 2010-11
$12-14 million. His distributor sold $2 billion in 1995.

He passed away on 7 January 2019 at the age of 79.
